Introducing a new exciting B’Nai Mitzvah Program with Rabbi Saltzman
for those having Bar/Bat Mitzvahs in 2009/2010.
Sunday, September 13th (Program closed): At 9:30 a.m. there will be a presentation by Yaen Vared,
from Israel’s Antiquities Authority. We will bus to the ROM for a tour at 11:00 a.m. of the Dead Sea Scrolls,
and return to Adath Israel at approximately 12:30 p.m. to enjoy a picnic lunch.
Monday, October 5th: Scroll Writing Seminar led by a Sofer (professional scribe) at the synagogue. Each child
will receive a quill, ink and parchment and learn more about how to write a scroll, like the Dead Sea Scrolls
and our Torah. Our Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidates will join the Hebrew High School for dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, October 23rd: Lively Family Oneg Shabbat with music, singing and a festive meal.
Monday, November 9th: Join with the Adath Israel Hebrew High School at 5:00 p.m. for a lecture and conversation.
The topic will be “Facing Anti -Israel Propaganda in the High Schools and on the College Campuses”. Dinner will follow
at 6:30 p.m. and pick up will be at 7:00 p.m.
January Date T.B.A.: Tickets will be available for “East of Berlin” at the Tarragon Theatre.

Sunday, May 16th: We have 20 tickets for the Young People’s Theatre to see “Hanna’s Suitcase”. Please let
us know as soon as possible of your interest in this production, so that we may set aside tickets for you. We will
meet at Adath Israel for an orientation seminar at 9:45 a.m. and depart at 10:10 for the theatre.
The play begins at 11:00 a.m.
