Rabbi Adam Cutler – Where Does Judaism Happen?

Rabbi Adam Cutler – Where Does Judaism Happen?

Where does Judaism happen? Where have you intentionally or otherwise most strongly felt our religion’s presence. Surely, Judaism is crystallized and fortified in synagogues. But Judaism happens on basketball courts and highways, in houses and boats, in your heart and in your mind. Judaism lives in the Istanbul phone booth where I once davened minchah. Judaism happens wherever you welcome it in.

The physical building that houses Adath Israel Congregation is currently closed. Yet, synagogues are not the only place where our religion resides. In the absence of joint communal prayer – when we can’t gather in the Beit Knesset, literally the House of Gathering – let’s find new and exciting ways to let Judaism thrive, wherever we may find ourselves. Adath Israel Congregation is committed to providing you with digital platforms in which Judaism can happen. We are also thrilled to help you find ways for Judaism to happen in whatever physical spaces you find yourself in.
