עַל שְׁלשָׁה דְבָרִים הָעוֹלָם עוֹמֵד, עַל הַתּוֹרָה וְעַל הָעֲבוֹדָה וְעַל גְּמִילוּת חֲסָדִים

The world rests on three things: on Torah, on service to God and on acts of human kindness.

Ve’ahavta Partnership

Ve’ahavta is an outreach van program which supports people who are experiencing homelessness and poverty.  You can volunteer to assist a Ve’ahavta outreach worker for a five or six-hour shift at which time you may serve up to 100 individuals living on the streets of downtown Toronto or in precarious housing situations. Volunteers distribute food, coffee, clothing, hygiene supplies, and most importantly, provide some conversation and companionship.  Volunteers must be 12+ years, however, children between 12-17 years must be accompanied by an adult.

If you would like to consider booking a shift on the Mobile Van, check out the Ve’ahavta on-line registration portal.   Another way to support the van is to become a Meal Box volunteer – join a team and prepare and package healthy meals for van distribution.
